Ranga Reddy, July 7: Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday launched road infrastructure projects worth ₹338 crore and laid the foundation stone for 14 major road works covering 149 kilometres across Ibrahimpatnam, Maheshwaram, Medchal and LB Nagar constituencies.
The projects are being taken up under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) as part of the Telangana Government’s ambitious road modernisation programme aimed at improving connectivity, enhancing road safety, and promoting economic growth.
Addressing a public meeting at Thorrur village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, the Minister said the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is implementing infrastructure projects beyond political considerations with the objective of creating roads that can serve as a national benchmark.
Komatireddy stated that Telangana has embarked on one of India’s largest road development programmes, with 441 roads spanning 6,092 kilometres being upgraded at an estimated cost of ₹13,000 crore under 34 HAM packages. The newly launched projects form a key component of this statewide initiative.
The ₹338-crore package includes the development of major corridors connecting Hayathnagar–Thorrur–Koheda–Anajpur, Anajpur–Abdullapurmet–Bandaraviryal, Hayathnagar–Kuntloor–Pasumamula–Taramatipet, Sagar Road–Injapur–Thorrur–Brahmanpally–Ragannaguda, and Sagar Road–Injapur–Hayathnagar. These roads will be upgraded into modern four-lane corridors equipped with central lighting and enhanced safety features.
According to the Minister, the projects will help ease traffic congestion, improve commuter safety, strengthen regional connectivity, and create new employment and investment opportunities in rapidly growing suburban areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said the government has prioritized roads, education, healthcare, and civic infrastructure development in Ibrahimpatnam constituency. Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy described the sanction of ₹338 crore for road works as a historic milestone and highlighted the ongoing development initiatives in the constituency.
Telangana State Road Development Corporation Chairman Malreddy Ram Reddy said the expansion of major roads into four-lane corridors would significantly improve connectivity and support balanced regional development.
Among those present were Members of Parliament Etala Rajender and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MLC Shankar Naik, senior officials, public representatives, and local residents.
