Over Shabad Murders, Seeks Justice for Nerella Victim’s Family

Telangana Rakshana Sena Chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday criticized the Telangana government over the recent murders in Hyderabad, alleging a failure of law and order and demanding the resignation of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who also holds the Home portfolio.In a statement shared on social media platform X, Kavitha described the killing of six people in the Shabad area of Ranga Reddy district as a horrific incident and questioned the effectiveness of the state’s policing and public safety mechanisms. She alleged that the accused, who had previously been booked in a POCSO case and was out on bail, was able to commit the crime due to lapses in law enforcement.
Kavitha demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and alleged that the government’s inability to prevent the incident reflected a serious breakdown in law and order. She urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take responsibility for the incident and resign from his post.The Telangana Rakshana Sena chief also expressed grief over the death of Gandham Gopal, one of the victims associated with the 2017 Nerella police torture case. She said Gopal had suffered health complications for several years following the alleged police assault after protesting illegal sand mining.
Kavitha alleged that despite promises made by political leaders over the years, justice had not been delivered to the Nerella victims. She stated that she would visit Gopal’s family to offer condolences and reiterated her party’s commitment to pursuing justice for the affected family.The Telangana government has maintained that police are investigating the Shabad murders and have been directed to apprehend the accused at the earliest. Authorities have also stated that legal action will be taken in accordance with the law.
