Association launches in Hyderabad with over 100 overseas education experts; Duolingo joins as official partner.
HYDERABAD | JULY 13, 2026 | THE JOURNALIST POST : The Global Education Consultants Association (GECA) was officially launched in Hyderabad with the participation of more than 100 overseas education consultants and study-abroad experts from across the country. The association aims to promote transparency, ethical practices, and quality standards in the overseas education sector while providing reliable guidance to students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad.
The inaugural event, held at Hotel Manohar, brought together education consultants, university representatives, international partners, and media professionals to discuss key issues such as university selection, visa procedures, student counselling, career planning, and the need for greater accountability in overseas education services. Speakers emphasized that GECA would serve as a unified platform for improving professional standards and protecting students from misleading practices.
A major highlight of the launch was the announcement of Duolingo as GECA’s official partner. The collaboration will provide students with access to internationally recognized English proficiency testing, stronger connections with global universities, and improved support throughout the study-abroad process.
GECA’s founding members stated that the association will focus on eliminating fraudulent practices, promoting ethical consultancy services, organizing training programmes for member consultants, strengthening partnerships with international universities, and offering accurate career guidance to students. They also highlighted that the participation of more than 100 experienced consultants during the launch reflects the growing confidence of the overseas education community in the association’s vision.
The organizers expressed confidence that GECA will expand across the country and emerge as a trusted national platform for overseas education, contributing to higher standards, greater transparency, and better opportunities for Indian students seeking international education.
