Seeks Protection of Remaining Four Acres of Land

Questions ₹19-Crore Loan; Urges Minister Tummala to Respond Immediately

Hyderabad, October 9 (The Journalist Post):

Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has demanded a comprehensive investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) into alleged corruption and irregularities in Chitrapuri Colony Society. She urged the government to act immediately on allegations of irregularities in land utilisation and housing allotments intended for film industry workers. Kavitha also called for the protection of the remaining four acres of land in the colony and demanded that it be used to construct houses for eligible film workers.

Speaking to the media on Friday alongside leaders of the Chitrapuri Colony Sadhana Samithi, Kavitha alleged that several irregularities had taken place under the leadership of Anil, who heads the Film Federation. She called for an impartial investigation into the allegations. Claiming that irregularities had occurred during the previous BRS government’s tenure with the alleged support of some ministers, she questioned why the Congress government had failed to act despite promising action during the elections.

Dispute Over Four Acres of Land

Kavitha recalled that 67 acres of land were allotted for Chitrapuri Colony in 1994, following the initiative of then Chief Minister Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy and actor Prabhakar Reddy, to provide housing to film industry workers. She alleged that large-scale corruption took place in the allotment of houses and the management of the land during the previous BRS government’s ten-year rule.

According to Kavitha, attempts were being made to misuse the remaining four acres of land in the colony. She alleged that a loan of ₹19 crore had been obtained by mortgaging the land in violation of cooperative society rules. She also questioned reports that flats would now be constructed on the same land.

Demanding an immediate inquiry by the concerned departments, Kavitha called for the disclosure of all details relating to the land transactions. She urged Cooperation Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao to respond without delay and take steps to protect the disputed land for the benefit of economically disadvantaged film workers.

Kavitha Seeks Removal of Film Federation Chief Anil

Kavitha appealed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to remove Anil from the post of Film Federation president immediately. She referred to allegations of collections amounting to ₹23 crore and ₹10 crore in connection with flats and other housing-related matters, demanding a comprehensive investigation into the claims.

She further alleged that ₹2 lakh had been collected from society members for organising a public meeting attended by the Chief Minister during the recent Jubilee Hills by-election campaign and that another ₹2 lakh was being sought for the Chief Minister’s meeting scheduled for Sunday. She said the individuals concerned and the authorities should clarify the facts surrounding these allegations.

Kavitha also raised allegations that a house allotted to senior director Thota Ramakrishna had been sold to another person. Claiming that those who questioned such actions were being threatened, she asked why the police had not taken appropriate action.

Referring to reports that the Chief Minister might announce ₹10 crore for Chitrapuri Colony at Sunday’s meeting, Kavitha suggested that the funds should be allocated directly to the Film Federation Corporation rather than routed through Anil. She estimated the current value of the colony’s land at approximately ₹7,000 crore and questioned the government’s alleged inaction despite the serious accusations surrounding such valuable property.

Film Industry Leaders Urged to Intervene

Kavitha appealed to prominent members of the film industry to intervene to ensure that workers who had purchased houses with their hard-earned money were not subjected to injustice. She specifically urged Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Suresh Babu and Dil Raju to respond to the issue and help secure justice for the affected workers.

She also alleged that a house had been allotted to the wife of P.V. Srinivas, a Congress representative on the allotment committee. Questioning how a house could be allotted to the spouse of a committee member, she called for transparency in the allocation process.

Kavitha further urged noted lyricist and poet Suddala Ashok Teja, who is also associated with the allotment committee, to respond to the developments in Chitrapuri Colony and disclose the facts.

Expressing confidence that her party would come to power in the next two years, Kavitha promised to ensure justice for film workers. She asserted that the Telangana Rakshana Sena would continue its fight alongside the affected residents until their grievances were addressed.

Chitrapuri Colony Sadhana Samithi president Dr. Kasturi Srinivas, Sudheer Kalagara, Ravindranath Tagore, Thota Haritha, Ram Challa, Lakshminarayana and others attended the meeting.
