Three Different Operations Under One Roof Raise Safety and Oversight Questions

Food processing, a water plant and chemical/agricultural activities reportedly operate within the same premises

Questions raised over permissions, inspections, land use and possible contamination risks

Abdullapurmet, Ranga Reddy District, September 20, The Journalist Post: Serious questions have been raised over the functioning of a food processing unit, a water plant and chemical/agricultural input-related activities within the same premises at Survey No. 357 in Turrur village of Abdullapurmet Mandal. The reported coexistence of three distinctly different operations has prompted questions about regulatory permissions, safety standards, land use and the extent of inspections conducted by the concerned government departments.

The issue requires verification through official records and field inspections. If food processing, drinking-water purification and chemical or agricultural-input activities are indeed operating within the same compound, authorities need to establish whether each unit possesses the required licences and approvals and whether appropriate safety and environmental safeguards are being followed.

Food Processing Unit: Were Required Inspections Conducted?

The reported food-processing activity raises questions regarding food-safety compliance, including licences, hygiene conditions, raw-material storage, production areas, water quality and finished-product storage. Authorities should clarify whether food-safety officials have inspected the premises, whether samples of food or water were collected for testing and whether the relevant licences remain valid.

If inspections have been conducted, the findings and compliance status should be made available through the appropriate official channels. If no inspection has taken place, authorities should explain the reason.

Water Plant: Who Guarantees the Quality of Drinking Water?

The presence of a water-processing or packaging facility at the same location also warrants regulatory scrutiny. Authorities need to establish the source of the water, purification methods, storage conditions, testing frequency and applicable permissions.

The matter becomes particularly important if chemical or agricultural-input operations are simultaneously taking place on the premises. Officials should verify whether adequate physical separation, sanitation, storage and contamination-prevention measures are in place and whether water samples have been tested as required.

Chemical and Agricultural Activities: Where Is the Regulatory Oversight?

A signboard reportedly bearing the name “Kever Agri Sciences” has raised questions about the nature of activities being conducted at the site. Relevant agriculture authorities, including officials exercising jurisdiction at the appropriate level, should clarify whether the premises have been inspected and what products are being manufactured, stored or handled.

Questions also arise regarding raw materials, storage practices, product approvals, safety measures and waste disposal. Where applicable, officials responsible for agricultural-input quality and related regulatory requirements should disclose whether inspections have been carried out and whether the unit complies with prescribed standards.

One Premises, Three Operations: Need for Coordinated Inspection

The reported presence of food processing, water treatment and chemical/agricultural activities in one compound calls for a coordinated examination by the concerned departments.

Food-safety authorities can verify food-related compliance; agriculture authorities can examine agricultural-input activities; water-related authorities can verify drinking-water standards; pollution-control authorities can assess environmental compliance; and Revenue and local-body officials can examine land use, construction and applicable permissions.

The central question is whether these departments have conducted a coordinated inspection of the entire premises and, if so, what their findings were.

Large Sheds on Agricultural Land: Are All Permissions in Place?

Questions have also been raised regarding large sheds reportedly constructed on agricultural land. The matter can be established only by examining official land and construction records.

Revenue and local authorities should clarify the land classification, permitted use, applicable building permissions, sanctioned plans and any approvals required for industrial or commercial activities. If all necessary permissions have been obtained, the relevant records should establish that position. If violations are identified, the competent authorities must determine the appropriate action under law.

Clarification Sought Regarding Use of a Media Organization’s Name

The name of Rajinikanth Reddy, reportedly associated with a local daily newspaper as an LB Nagar Zone reporter/in-charge, has also surfaced in connection with questions surrounding the premises.

The Journalist Post stresses that any alleged connection between the individual, Survey No. 357, the sheds or the businesses operating there must be established through documentary evidence. Similarly, any allegation concerning the use of a media organization’s name for personal or commercial activities requires clarification from the person concerned and the management of the organization.

Vaartha Sandhya is being given an opportunity to respond to the allegations and concerns referred to in this report. Any response received from Rajinikanth Reddy or the concerned organization will be considered for publication with due prominence.

Public Safety Requires Transparency

The issue ultimately concerns activities reportedly connected with food, drinking water and chemical or agricultural inputs. These areas are subject to different regulatory requirements because failures in safety, hygiene, storage or environmental management can potentially affect the public.

The authorities should therefore clarify whether the reported operations have the necessary permissions, whether inspections have been conducted and whether any violations have been identified.

If the operations are fully compliant, official documentation and inspection reports can provide clarity. If violations are found, the responsible authorities should take action in accordance with the law.

Food that people consume. Water that people drink. Chemical or agricultural activities reportedly taking place nearby.

The public deserves clear answers.

When will a comprehensive inspection of Survey No. 357, Turrur village, take place? What do the official records show? And which department will place the facts before the public?
