Hyderabad, July 7: Telangana is emerging as a global model for responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) development, with a strong focus on sustainability, environmental protection, and social responsibility. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the state is setting new benchmarks by ensuring that technological advancement goes hand-in-hand with the welfare of people and the protection of natural resources.
The Deputy Chief Minister, along with Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, inaugurated the two-day Green Growth Economic Summit – The Hyderabad Collective at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on Monday.
Addressing delegates from various countries, Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized that AI development is not limited to cloud computing and servers but also depends on critical resources such as electricity, water, land, and human capital. He stated that Telangana is demonstrating to the world how AI can be developed responsibly through renewable energy adoption and efficient resource management.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that while the state is aggressively attracting investments, it is ensuring that industrial growth benefits both local communities and the environment. He stressed that industries must contribute to skill development, utilize clean energy, and rely on recycled water resources.
Highlighting Telangana’s people-centric approach, he introduced the concept of “People’s Credit,” aimed at ensuring AI investments generate employment opportunities and enhance skill development, particularly among rural youth.
Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated that investments should be accompanied by transparency, clean energy practices, and social responsibility. Companies, he said, must not only reduce emissions but also strengthen local intellectual capital.
Assuring farmers and the general public, he stated that technology would never be allowed to compete with agriculture or the water needs of citizens. Telangana, he said, would prioritize AI systems that adopt responsible water-use practices.
The Deputy Chief Minister further emphasized that AI should be accessible to all sections of society, breaking language barriers and creating employment opportunities for youth from districts such as Mahabubabad and Adilabad.
Referring to the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, he said Telangana is advancing on a scientific and technological growth path while establishing itself as more than just a destination for data centers.
With its investor-friendly ecosystem, transparent governance, and human-centric policies, Telangana is increasingly being viewed as a global benchmark for responsible AI development. Hyderabad, which seamlessly blends tradition with innovation, is now emerging as a leading hub for sustainable and ethical AI standards worldwide.
