KOTHA GANGARAM (ASWARAOPETA), July 10
Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) Chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday assured the Nayakapod community of political representation and pledged to fight for the rights of marginalised sections during her visit to Kotha Gangaram Nayakapod Gudem in Ashwaraopeta Mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Interacting with villagers, Kavitha enquired about their problems and assured them of her continued support. She said her party was formed with the objective of bringing meaningful change to people’s lives rather than following conventional political practices.
Addressing a public gathering, Kavitha said the Telangana Rakshana Sena was established to secure justice for communities that she described as socially and economically disadvantaged, including Adivasis, Scheduled Castes, tribal communities and minorities.
She expressed concern over the lack of basic infrastructure in remote tribal villages, stating that several habitations continue to face shortages of essential facilities, including electricity. She said development should ensure employment opportunities for educated youth, economic empowerment of women and protection of housing rights.
Kavitha alleged that members of the Nayakapod community continue to face issues related to identity and official recognition. She said every community deserves dignity, equal representation and opportunities in education, employment and politics.
“We want MLAs, ZPTC members and public representatives to emerge from the Nayakapod community. Our party will work towards ensuring political representation for them,” she said.
The Telangana Rakshana Sena chief also criticised the handling of welfare schemes for tribal communities, alleging that funds meant for Adivasis were not reaching the intended beneficiaries. She called for easier access to education loans, entrepreneurship finance and healthcare, stating that quality education and medical treatment should become fundamental rights available without financial hardship.
Kavitha outlined her party’s proposed ‘Panchajanya’ programme, which she said would focus on five key priorities, including education, healthcare, employment, youth entrepreneurship and farmers’ welfare. She proposed direct government financial assistance for aspiring entrepreneurs and reiterated her commitment to strengthening support systems for farmers.
She further advocated the concept of a “Social Telangana”, stating that the benefits of statehood should reach every section of society through social justice, equal opportunities and inclusive development.
Party leaders, representatives of tribal organisations, local leaders and villagers attended the programme.
