Telangana Revenue, Housing, and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has directed district administrations to accord the highest priority to the statewide land re-survey, describing it as a key step toward the effective implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act and ensuring long-term security for farmers’ land holdings. The Minister issued the directions during a video conference held from the Khammam District Collectorate with district collectors across Telangana. The review covered the implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act, land re-survey, disposal of Sadabainama applications, progress of Indiramma and 2BHK housing schemes, and the supply of school uniforms. Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) D.S. Lokesh Kumar and Khammam District Collector Diwakar T.S. also participated in the meeting.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that although the Bhu Bharati Act was introduced after replacing the Dharani system, experts had recommended a comprehensive land re-survey to ensure its successful implementation. He noted that pilot surveys conducted in five villages—selected from 413 locations lacking proper land maps—resolved nearly 95 percent of land-related disputes. He also referred to the recent distribution of updated land passbooks to farmers in Mulugumadu village by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The Minister announced that the statewide land re-survey would be completed in three phases by March 2027, with progress to be reviewed every month through video conferences. In the first phase, 70 villages in each district have been identified for the exercise.

He instructed officials to utilize trained licensed surveyors alongside regular survey staff to speed up the process. Licensed surveyors engaged in the programme will receive ₹60 per acre, including ₹50 towards survey work and ₹10 for transportation and related expenses. He warned that surveyors who fail to report for duty within the stipulated time would have their licences cancelled.Reviewing pending Sadabainama applications, the Minister observed that many applicants believe their requests are being rejected without adequate reasons. He directed officials to identify the causes of rejection, issue notices as per rules, and ensure that applications are disposed of promptly and transparently.

He expressed confidence that the land re-survey would provide a permanent solution to nearly 98 percent of the approximately 6,500 revenue-related grievances received during the Praja Darbar in the Palair constituency. Officials were also instructed to resolve issues involving lands included in the prohibited 22A list, particularly where only a portion of a survey number had been acquired for public purposes. On housing, Ponguleti instructed officials to expedite construction of Indiramma houses sanctioned under the first phase and initiate action against officials responsible for delays where funds had already been released. He also directed that pending 2BHK houses be handed over to beneficiaries in their current condition while simultaneously releasing funds to complete the remaining works.

The Minister ordered the immediate finalisation of beneficiaries for the second phase of the Indiramma housing programme, giving top priority to families currently living in huts. He also stressed the need to ensure uninterrupted supply of construction materials, including sand and gravel.Reviewing education-related matters, Ponguleti directed the Education Department to ensure that every student studying in government schools receives at least one set of uniforms before Independence Day on August 15.The Minister reiterated that the government remains committed to strengthening land administration, resolving long-pending revenue issues, accelerating welfare programmes, and delivering transparent governance across Telangana.
