Party leaders submit complaint to DGP, alleging police misconduct during Boduppal land protest.
HYDERABAD, JULY 3 (The Journalist Post):Leaders of the Telangana Rakshana Sena on Friday met Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand and submitted a formal complaint seeking an independent inquiry into the arrest of the party’s chief, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, during a land rights protest held at Boduppal on Thursday.
Led by Telangana Rakshana Sena state leader Ramu Yadav, the delegation alleged that the police acted in an undemocratic and high-handed manner while detaining Kavitha and other party leaders during the protest.
According to the complaint, police personnel allegedly behaved aggressively, used abusive language against Kavitha and women leaders of the party, and resorted to excessive force while dispersing the demonstrators. The leaders claimed that the protest was peaceful and accused the police of acting with bias against the party.
The delegation urged the DGP to order an independent investigation into the entire incident and take appropriate action against those found responsible.
As part of the complaint, the party submitted video footage and photographs purportedly related to the scuffle and tense situation that occurred during Kavitha’s arrest, requesting that they be examined as evidence during the inquiry.
